MIKEONE
UK-born and Cleveland-based, MIKEONE is a DJ, producer and the founder of Disfunktional, with more than three decades behind the decks and a deep-rooted connection to house music culture.
His sound sits firmly in the space between deep, raw, soulful and percussive house music built for the dancefloor rather than the algorithm. Drawing from the foundations of Chicago and Detroit while constantly looking forward, MIKEONE’s sets are defined by groove, patience and flow, long-form journeys that move naturally between stripped-back rhythms, deeper textures and tougher late-night energy.
Over the years, he has played across the UK, Europe and the United States, including appearances in cities such as London, Berlin, Chicago, Detroit and New York. Along the way, MIKEONE and Disfunktional have shared lineups with some of house music’s most respected names, including Masters at Work, Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, DJ Minx, Terry Hunter, Mark Farina, Karizma, Demuir, Graeme Park, Jon DaSilva and Dave Haslam, among others.
Originally established in the UK in 2003, Disfunktional has always been about music first, creating spaces for DJs with a shared understanding of underground club culture. Since relocating to the United States, MIKEONE has rebuilt the concept in Cleveland, developing Disfunktional into an established house music platform through long-running residencies, club events and appearances in cities including Detroit, Chicago and New York.
As a producer, MIKEONE releases music under the name MKO, extending the same aesthetic heard in his DJ sets into the studio: hypnotic grooves, warm low-end, percussion-driven rhythms and stripped-back house music designed for proper sound systems and late-night floors. His productions, edits and reworks reflect a philosophy that has remained consistent throughout his career, respect the roots, avoid the obvious and always serve the dancefloor.
Whether producing as MKO, playing as MIKEONE, or developing the next chapter of Disfunktional, the focus remains unchanged, True House Music.
